Final Reflection

My learning experience in this module was a fast and progressive one as there were lots of assignments given weekly, thus, the learning process was rapid. However, the knowledge handed was useful as I was able to make use of them in my writing. From the product summary to the technical report writing, I was able to gradually build up what I have learned such as the paraphrasing and referencing. In addition, the peer reviews gave me another perspective of my work and identifies the crucial points in which I have missed in my work. Furthermore, I realized that by reading my peers work, I was able to recognise the differences in writing and the approaches which contributed to new ideas in improving my own writing by learning from others.

From the showcase I could see the differences between the groups that were presenting and my own. I could have mentioned on how my current product has many problems leading to the low customer satisfaction. I am lacking the impact of how serious the problem is such as how it impacts the society. Furthermore, I admired how the presentation groups had a smooth flow in terms of the information being delivered and how each member was able to smoothly hand over their part to the next member. In addition, at the end of each presentation there were important points that I could remember and this is important as an audience to get the gist of information by the end of it.

Self-introduction

Subject: Self-introduction Dear Professor Brad Blackstone, My name is Musfirah Binte Latiff and the purpose of this letter is to introduce myself as a student - technical communication class. I am currently pursuing a degree in telematics (intelligent transportation systems engineering) at Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). I recently graduated from Temasek Polytechnic (TP) with a diploma in infocomm and network engineering along with a certificate in psychology. My interest was piqued in programming when I was reading the programme overview of my previous diploma course as it was something foreign. During the three years of study in TP, the main take away was having to realize that programming was more than just a desk job, as communication with users are crucial to ensure that project requirements are met. Furthermore, after graduating I felt that Singapore was moving ahead in technology and engineering, thus, I decided to pursue a degree that had a mixture of both
